Indufor carries out a study for the United Nations on forest financing in Small Island Developing States and Low Forest Cover Countries.
Indufor has been contracted to carry out a major assessment for the United Nations Forum on Forests Secretariat (UNFFs) on forest financing in Small Island Developing States (SIDS) and Low Forest Cover Countries (LFCCs).
The study includes seven country case studies, four marcro level papers and a survey on forest financing in all SIDS and LFCCs countries. The process will improve the understanding on forest investment and public financing in SIDS and LFCCs focusing on current financing mechanisms and the level of financing flows, demand for forest finance and the related gaps and opportunities. This process is part of the UNFF Facilitative Process on forest financing to mobilize funding from all sources. Beyond the critical importance of forests in both SIDS and LFCCs, both categories of countries have been identified as having suffered from a particularly sharp decline in financing for forest development.
