Indufor Group held a panel discussions “Responsible Forest Investment to meet the Sustainable Development Goals”, followed by a reception marking the establishment of Indufor North America on September 15, 2015 at the Embassy of Finland in Washington D.C.
Indufor Oy was represented by Managing Director Jyrki Salmi who gave welcoming words and Deputy Managing Director Petri Lehtonen who gave the presentation.
The Managing Director of Indufor North America, Jeffrey Hatcher, facilitated and hosted the event.
Appointed Ambassador of Finland, Kirsti Kauppi gave a welcoming address.
Managing Partner of Global Environment Fund, Ole Sand and Senior Natural Resources Management Specialist of the World Bank, Carole Megevand, participated in the panel discussions with Petri Lehtonen.
The panel discussion focused on sustainable and responsible forest investments, specifically forest plantation investments and timberland investments, sustainable forestry, forestry and climate change, REDD+, forest certification as well as the use of forest consulting in bringing private and public sector stakeholder together to find innovative new solutions.
