Indufor has been involved in the UNFCCC negotiations for many years. At the COP21, Indufor teamed up with partners Greenstream, CC Law Climate Change Consulting and the Finnish Institute for International Affairs to produce the latest report Results of the Paris COP21 Climate Negotiations for the Ministry of Environment of Finland.

The report highlights one of the more successful features of the Paris Agreement, which saw forests attain a high level of recognition with a stand-alone Article for REDD+. In addition, Article 5 of the Paris Agreement includes a new role for forests and specifically refers to Joint Mitigation and Adaptation (JMA) approaches for the integral and sustainable management of forests, while reaffirming the importance of non-carbon benefits (NCB).

Indufor also covered developments on Loss and Damage, as well as Adaptation in the report and at COP21.

The report can be downloaded from the Ministry of the Environment’s website here.
