Michael Owen is a Consultant at Indufor North America. He contributes to research and analysis regarding forest and natural resource governance. Before joining Indufor he worked on environmental policy research in Chile, and climate change research in the Arctic. More recently, he has worked with the NASA Applied Sciences Program on the use of Earth Observation Systems to improve decision-making in complex disaster and humanitarian contexts. He also works with the International Research Institute for Climate and Society and the World Food Programme on food security-climate linkages in Senegal. He is pursuing a Master’s in Climate and Society from the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences, Columbia University and holds a Bachelor’s in International Relations from American University. He speaks English and Spanish.
