Karena Mahung is a Consultant at Indufor who advises on environmental finance and sustainable land use, policy and management. Her current work centers around philanthropic, private and public financing of sustainable natural resource management, climate change mitigation and adaptation, and land tenure risk mitigation. Previously, she worked with the National Park Foundation to shepherd the organization’s strategic plan and launch new initiative areas in partnership with the U.S. National Park Service around collaborative landscape conservation and impact investing. Other prior experiences include ESG assessments for a timber investment management organization (TIMO), landscape conservation research with Harvard Forest, and community forest management with private land conservation organizations in the Northeast USA. She holds a Masters of Environmental Management from the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental and Natural Resource Management from the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine Campus.
