Ms Helinä Poutamo holds a Master’s degree in Forest Sciences (MSc For) from University of Helsinki (2019). Her major was Forests and Peatlands Management and Restoration, she also completed a minor in multidisciplinary environmental studies, and studied tropical forestry. Her recent thesis examined the effects of logging residues on greenhouse gas fluxes on a forestry-drained peatland in Southern Finland. Helinä has previously worked in a Helsinki-based consulting company focusing on the forest industry cluster, and in diverse research projects at the International Union of Forest Research Organizations, Metsähallitus, and University of Helsinki. Helinä is fluent in Finnish and English, speaks Spanish moderately and has basic skills in German and Swedish.
