Indufor’s Petri Lehtonen made a presentation in the prestigious Forest Forum for Decision-Makers in Espoo, Finland, on 7 May 2014 on the rising costs of forest and other land in the South. This rehabilitates the competitiveness of forest industry in the North.
Petri Lehtonen says that new production has been created in the South on the basis of very high profitability expectations. The first plantation investments were and continue to be very profitable. This may, however, not be the case in the future.
