Indufor Asia Pacific has recruited two new consultants.
Rosa Rivas Palma, Consultant – Forestry and Climate Change, holds a PhD in forest environmental and social valuation (2008) and a Master’s degree in Forestry science (MForSc distinction; 2000) from the University of Canterbury, New Zealand, and a Bachelor of Forestry Science (honours) from the National Agrarian University La Molina, Perú (1993).
Rosa’s expertise includes the organisation and management of projects related to forestry development, community forestry and protected areas management, and providing technical and policy advice on climate change issues specifically on the Land Use, Land-Use Change and Forestry (LULUCF) sector. She also has experience in international forestry and climate change reporting, including greenhouse gas inventories and projections. Rosa is a qualified UNFCCC LULUCF sector expert reviewer. She has professional working experience in New Zealand and Perú and is fluent in both Spanish and English.
Kevin Tao, Consultant – Forest Resources, holds a Bachelor of Forestry Engineering degree from Canterbury University, New Zealand (2011). His expertise includes resource inventory, forest modelling and analysis, harvest planning, transportation networks and resource mapping using GIS and remote sensing. He has assisted with a variety of projects throughout Oceania and Asia. These have included providing instruction in forest inventory and estate modelling technology in China, and country-scale land use change mapping required for REDD+ and national reporting purposes. He is fluent in Mandarin and English.
