Indufor, in cooperation with LTS International Ltd. (UK), won the tender for the Formulation of the Future Cooperation in the Kenyan Forestry Sector. The five-month assignment, funded by the Finnish Ministry for Foreign Affairs will produce a programme document proposing the cooperation planned for the next four years, with a maximum Finnish contribution of 10 million euros.
The National Forest Programme (NFP) is currently in its final stages of formulation and forms the blueprint of forest development in Kenya. It is envisaged that the new cooperation will concentrate on a few thematic areas of the NFP, tentatively on forest productivity, forest governance and sustainable forest financing.
The assignment includes both identification and formulation phases. The relevance and the feasibility of different options on the program’s scope and approach will be analysed during the identification phase, with a number of relevant stakeholder consultations.
During the program formulation phase leading to the preparation of a draft program document, our team of experts will conduct analyses on human rights impact and rights holders, duty bearers and beneficiaries of the program, prepare the Theory of Change model and a results-based framework; carry out a risk analysis, and design the monitoring and evaluation mechanisms for the program, as well as prepare guidance on baseline analyses and a communication plan.
The final program document is due before end of September this year.
