Garnica Plywood (La Rioja, Spain), the leading poplar plywood producer, celebrated its 75th anniversary on 17-18 June in Logroño. Around 25 top customers from all over the world attended the festivities. Indufor’s consultant Antti Kämäräinen, plywood specialist, was invited to the event to give a presentation on the current situation and outlook of the global plywood industry.
Grupo Garnica’s President Pedro Garnica gave a very emotional speech to the festive audience.

Garnica Plywood was founded in 1940 in the town of Banos de Rio Tobia by the Garnica family, which still has a strong presence among its shareholders. Garnica Plywood has about 600 employees, and exports 90 percent of its production from its four plants. The company produces over 220 000 m3 of plywood panels annually, and has a turnover of 140 million euros with more than 600 customers in 36 countries.
