Indufor’s 30th anniversary celebration was held on 24 November 2010 in Helsinki under this year’s first snowstorm. Managing Director Suvi Anttila received over 100 guests with warm welcome.
The event was also the premiere of a video “Our world and work – Indufor in Mozambique”, which illustrated the impact forestry related projects can make locally. Clive Suckling from PricewaterhouseCoopers UK presented the informative and stimulating keynote speech where he described new considerations in forest investments. Retrospective reflections for Indufor’s future were given by Markku Simula, founder of Indufor Oy, who implemented his own exit from the company in 2003. It was good to hear that in a changing world basic things remain.
The official programme was concluded in a lively panel discussion on “Forest Investments – Land Grabbing or Wealth Creation?” where Tapani Oksanen acted as the moderator. Accompanied by beautiful songs and relaxed instrumental music, the all 100+ participants enjoyed cocktails, buffet dinner and vivid discussions.
